As a result of the destruction of the Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Sergei Kotov by Ukrainian forces, seven crew members were killed and six more were injured.

As Interfax-Ukraine was told by the Main Intelligence Agency within the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as a result of being hit by drones, the Russian ship sank, and seven people were killed, six were injured, another 52 crew members were evacuated.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Agency within the Defense Ministry reported the destruction of the Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Sergei Kotov. "On the night of March 5, 2024, the special unit of the Main Intelligence Agency within the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine 'Group 13' attacked the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Sergey Kotov. The mission took place in cooperation with the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. As a result of an attack by sea drones Magura V5 Russian ship of project 22160 Sergey Kotov received damage to the stern, starboard and left sides," the agency said on the Telegram channel.

It is also noted that the fire defeat of the Kotov ship took place in the territorial waters of Ukraine, not far from the Kerch Strait, the cost of the sunken ship is about $65 million.
