Today, 90% of the drones used by Ukraine on the battlefield are of Ukrainian production, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development Mykhailo Fedorov, who is also the Digital Transformation Minister of Ukraine, has said.

"Our quick response and technology effectiveness has led to the fact that 90% of all drones that are used on the battlefield are made Ukraine," he said at the Ukraine. Year 2024 conference on Sunday, February 25.

According to Fedorov, a large team of officials, business and public representatives currently work to ensure that Ukraine has more technology.

"Last year alone, we adopted more than 20 normative and legal acts. These are laws, government regulations which, in fact, created the world's best environment for doing military technology business exactly in Ukraine," the deputy prime minister said.

Military companies which do business in Ukraine receive the highest margins, Fedorov said.

"We do not have taxes on components. We have, in fact, a fast track for all components to cross the border for the production in Ukraine. And, in fact, this policy making has led to the fact that […] last year, in 2023, the production was 120 times bigger if we take drones as an example, and more than 300,000 procurements and contracts were made," he said, adding that Ukraine would continue to intensify these processes in 2024.
