Loss of Russian landing ship Caesar Kunikov will almost certainly further constraint limited Russian resources available in Black Sea – British Intelligence

The elimination by Ukrainian troops of the Russian landing ship Caesar Kunikov is likely to further limit the resources of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea, as well as make the logistics chain of the enemy Black Sea Fleet vulnerable to new attacks, according to British intelligence.

“The vessel is heavily relied on to provide logistical support to the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) and the Russian war in Ukraine. The loss of the vessel will almost certainly further constraint the limited Russian resources available in the Black Sea and leave the Black Sea Fleet logistical chain vulnerable to additional attacks. It also further reduces the redundancy available to support logistical movements between mainland Russia to the Crimean Peninsula when the Kerch bridge is closed,” according to a report published on the social network X of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Thursday.

The British Intelligence stresses that “Ukraine’s ingenuity has highly likely deterred Russia from operating freely in the Western Black Sea and enabled Ukraine to seize the maritime momentum from Russia.”

As reported, on February 14, 2024, the Main Intelligence Agency (GUR), in cooperation with all components of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed the large landing ship Caesar Kunikov of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
