Bundestag Vice President arrives in Kyiv, will visit Odesa too

Vice President of the Bundestag Katrin Göring-Eckardt arrived in Ukraine on Monday.

According to the Bundestag website, Göring-Eckardt will meet, in particular, with head of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk to discuss parliamentary cooperation between the German Bundestag and the Verkhovna Rada, the necessary military and financial support and learn about the restoration of the country. She will also visit reconstruction projects.

"Ukraine is protecting not only its country, but also the freedom of Europe. Right now, Europe needs to strengthen its support for Ukraine. Each restored house shows Vladimir Putin: Ukrainians are not giving up, and we are not giving up Ukraine," the press service of the Bundestag quoted the Vice President as saying.

She also stressed that "Putin is making children hostages of his policy."

"Many of the children will soon no longer be able to remember that they are Ukrainians and have Ukrainian parents. We must do everything possible to bring these children home," Göring-Eckardt urged.

Within the framework of the visit of the Vice President of the Bundestag, a meeting with Ukrainian cultural figures and a visit to Odesa are also planned.

After completing the five-day trip, she will travel to Moldova.
