Ukrainian servicemen in Khortytsia area of responsibility destroy 120 Russian tanks since early January
The Russian occupiers continue to intensify offensive actions in the east of Ukraine, in particular in Kupyansk direction, with more active use of equipment, said Volodymyr Fityo, head of the public relations Service of the AFU Ground Forces Command.
"If, for example, we analyze the number of destroyed tanks for the month of December, then on average our defenders used to destroy five tanks per day. And, accordingly, on January 20 of this year, statistics show that our defenders destroy six tanks on an average daily basis. That is, we see that already as of January 20, 120 ruscist tanks have been destroyed and more than 7,000 ruscists have been killed and wounded," Fityo said on the telethon.
He clarified that there was no increase in the number of Russian troops in Kupyansk direction.
"The composition of Russians in Kupyansk direction has not changed. Some 200,000 are their grouping in Khortytsia area of responsibility, and approximately 44,000 Russian occupiers are concentrated in Kupyansk direction. Their number does not change, we are monitoring the movement of units, and there are no significant changes," Fityo said.
