Over half of agricultural lands subject to priority demining examined in Ukraine

In Ukraine, since the beginning of 2023, more than 225,000 hectares of agricultural land have been surveyed, identified for priority return to economic exploitation, of which more than 5,000 hectares – during the last week of October, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reported.

"The vast majority of the areas surveyed during the week – almost 4,200 hectares – are in Kherson region. The rest are in Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions," according to the recent report of the regional military administrations.

According to the report, in general, to date, more than 47% of agricultural land has already been surveyed, which is planned to be returned to economic use first, in particular in Kharkiv region – more than 28%, Kherson – 48%, and Mykolaiv region – more than 79%.

At the same time, a total of about 170,000 hectares of land were returned to economic use.

The Ministry of Economy reminded that within four years, over 470,000 hectares of agricultural land are subject to priority restoration, including inspections, and, if necessary, clearing and demining.
