Ukraine already raises around EUR 500 mln for humanitarian mine action from international partners
Ukraine has already raised EUR 500 million for humanitarian demining from international partners, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said.
"A conference on humanitarian mine action with the participation of more than 40 countries took place in Zagreb. The government's delegation presented our plans on the clearance of Russia's mine waste. We had a fruitful dialogue with our partners. Taking into account the preceding assistance packages, we have raised around EUR 500 million in donations for demining of Ukraine," he said at a meeting of the government on Friday.
According to the prime minister, in particular, Switzerland donated EUR 100 million, Norway – around EUR 20 million, Sweden – EUR 12.5 million, Croatia – EUR 5 million, Austria – EUR 2 million, Spain and Slovenia – EUR 1.5 million each.
"Ukraine is grateful to everyone for their contribution joint efforts for the security of future generations. The money will be used to purchase examination and demining equipment as well as gear for bomb squads. Also, additional support will come in the form of equipment and expert assistance," Shmyhal said.
