Ukraine to win soon, Europe already preparing to support its recovery, integration – von der Leyen at Biennale Architettura 2023

World leaders are already discussing their plans to help Ukraine after its victory in the full-scale war with Russia, it will take a lot of resources and funds to restore the destroyed territories, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said while visiting Ukraine's pavilion Before the Future at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia on Friday, according to the press service of the Restoration Ministry of Ukraine.

The European Commission President expressed confidence in the inevitability of a close victory for Ukraine. She also assured of full understanding of the needs that the Ukrainian people will face after the war, adding that restoration should be approached using all modern environmental and ethical standards for the sake of future generations.

According to the ministry's press release, von der Leyen is known for her strong support for Ukrainians and Ukraine's membership in the European Union, she promotes a new architecture of European values through the New European Bauhaus project. This strategy encourages countries to consciously improve the environment and life taking into account the needs of economical use of resources, reducing harmful emissions, recycling and reusing materials, as well as restoring biodiversity and developing the cultural and artistic characteristics of each region.

The curators of the Ukrainian pavilion, Iryna Miroshnykova and Oleksiy Petrov, held a tour for the President of the European Commission at one of the locations in Giardini. It was highlighted that Ukraine is already making a contribution to the image of its future.

"Ukraine returns to the Biennale to tell about itself and build close relationships between different communities. We live with the vision of 'life after victory' and every day we contribute to the image of this future," Petrov was quoted by the press service as saying.
