Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland has said that an international tribunal or other mechanism could be ready by the summer, under which Russia could be held accountable for crimes against humanity and war crimes in Ukraine, Voice of America reports.

Nuland said that she would like this mechanism to appear by the anniversary of the full–scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, that is around February, but, according to her, it may take a few more months. So, by summer it is real terms, according to her.

According to her, the United States is working on this issue jointly with the G7 countries and Ukraine. In particular, different models of the mechanism are being considered.
