Russian mobile crematoria have been launched in the partially occupied city of Mariupol, Donetsk region to cover up the war crimes of Russia-occupation forces, the Mariupol City Council said on Telegram on Wednesday.

"The murderers are covering their tracks. Russian mobile crematoria have begun operating in Mariupol. After the wide international publicity of the genocide in Bucha, the top leadership of Russia ordered to destroy any evidence of is war crimes in Mariupol," the report says.

The city council recalled that a week ago, cautious estimates indicated 5,000 dead civilians in the city, but given the size of the city, destruction, the duration of the blockade and tough resistance, the number of killed civilians could reach tens of thousands.

"The world has not seen the scale of the tragedy in Mariupol since the existence of the Nazi concentration camps. Russia-occupation forces turned our entire city into a death camp. Unfortunately, we can compare the situation to what happened in Chechnya or Aleppo. This is the new Auschwitz and Majdanek. The world must help punish Putin's monsters," Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko said.

According to the report, Russians are trying to identify all potential witnesses of the atrocities of the invaders through the filtration camps and destroy them.

To destroy the bodies of the dead, Russia-occupation forces have created special brigades, staffed by local collaborators and so-called terrorists from the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic." Self-proclaimed collaborator and "mayor" Konstiantyn Ivaschenko is coordinating the work of these groups, the city council said.
