Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has said that the Ukrainian people are bravely fighting against Russia and assured that the Ukrainians are not alone in this struggle.

"The day will come for the victory of the Ukrainian people. You are fighting bravely, and you are not alone. Every freedom-loving person or country is ready to support you. The Lithuanian people support you by all means possible. Your fight is also our fight. Your pain is our pain. And your freedom is our freedom too. For your and our freedom! Glory to Ukraine!" Nausėda said in a video message to the Ukrainian people posted on his Twitter page on Thursday.

He said that the Ukrainians are standing proud, firm and free, ready to repel the invaders.

"The Lithuanian people salute the Ukrainian heroes. You set an immortal example for us all fighting for every inch of your land. The glory of Ukraine is therefore everyone to admire," Nausėda said.

He also added that in Lithuania they see the shameful actions of Russia.

"Their many crimes are universally aborted and despised. The countless victims of this aggressive war shall not be forgotten," the head of state said.
