The House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress on Thursday supported the bill on suspension of normal trade relations with Russia, according to the voting results.

Some 424 members of the House of Representatives voted for depriving the Russian Federation of the most favored nation status in trade, eight congressmen opposed.

At the same time, in a statement on the page of the House of Representatives on Twitter, it is noted that the bill also provides for the suspension of normal trade relations with Belarus.

Thus, the bill was supported by more than two-thirds of the members of the House, which is required for its submission to the Senate of the U.S. Congress.

U.S. President Joe Biden said last week that the G7 would take steps to remove Russia's most favored nation status and also seek to discourage Russian borrowing from the World Bank and the IMF.

"Each of the countries intends to take measures to abolish the most favored nation status for Russia," he said.
