Invaders fire cluster bombs at Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv region, at least six dead, number of wounded being established - community head
On March 17, the Russian Armed Forces fired cluster bombs at Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv region, Viacheslav Zadorenko, head of Derhachi community, said.
"A few hours ago, the Russian army fired cluster bombs at Kozacha Lopan. As a result, at least six people were killed, the number of injured is being investigated," Zadorenko wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, the invaders bombed the railway station, shops, pharmacies and other civilian buildings in the center of the village. At the same time, the military infrastructure facilities that the invaders placed in Kozacha Lopan, as well as the Russian military, were not affected.
Zadorenko recalled that the use of cluster bombs is prohibited by the 2008 Dublin Convention.
"All this testifies to the deliberate cynical provocation of the Kremlin invaders in order to blame the Ukrainian side, sow panic and hatred of the local population towards the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims. I am sure that the residents of Kozacha Lopan are smart thinking people who do not succumb to hostile propaganda. You remember very well how our village developed under Ukraine, and you perfectly see what the 'Russian world' has brought to our homes today – only pain, suffering, hatred and devastation," Zadorenko wrote.
