Evacuation of peaceful population begins in Mariupol from 12:00 - city council
The evacuation of the civilian population from Mariupol (Donetsk region) will begin at 12:00 on Sunday, March 6, the press service of the Mariupol City Council reports.
"In Mariupol, the evacuation of the civilian population begins at 12:00. According to the Coordination Center under the leadership of the head of Donetsk Regional Civil-Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko, today, on March 6, from 10:00 to 21:00, a ceasefire regime will be established," the report says.
It specifies that the evacuation of the civilian population begins at 12:00. As a humanitarian "green" corridor, the route Mariupol - Portivske - Mangush - (bypassing Nikolske) Republic - Rozivka - Bilmak - Polohy - Orikhiv - Zaporizhia was chosen.
"The evacuation of the population will take place from three locations by municipal buses: Sport Complex Illichivets (Nakhimov Ave., 53), Drama Theater (1 Teatralna Square), Kalmiuska District Administration (193 Metalurgiv Ave)," the City Council says.
They note that following the route of the humanitarian corridor, one can leave the city by personal transport, moving in a column of municipal transport (exclusively behind buses). Red Cross escort will be provided at the head of the column. A request to all drivers leaving the city to contribute to the evacuation of the civilian population as much as possible - take people with you, fill the vehicles as much as possible.
"It is strictly forbidden to deviate from the route of the humanitarian corridor. An additional notification of the residents of the city will be carried out by the National Police," the city council summed up.
