A team of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine sent a number of appeals to international economic companies and institutions calling for additional restrictions against Russia and Belarus, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko said on her Facebook page.

"Our request to Moody's, AM Best Rating Services, S&P Global, Fitch Group – reputable rating agencies that assess the financial stability of different countries – is to lower Russia's credit rating to the lowest possible, which will entail massive demands for repayment of credit obligations and make the Russian economy is more vulnerable," she said in the statement.

In addition, the participants in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) are asked to apply an embargo on Russian products or apply non-automatic licensing to them, which will significantly reduce Russia's export opportunities, in particular, steel and raw materials.

"Our request to powerful global IT companies such as Telegram Messenger Inc, Alphabet Inc, Meta Platforms Inc, Microsoft Corporation, Intel Corporation and many others is to freeze current contracts with the Russian Federation, the implementation of service contracts, the provision of any services and licenses," Svyrydenko said, adding that today the enemy uses some of these companies to kill Ukrainians and destroy our country.

The Ministry of Economy also appealed to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), where they are calling for the Russian pavilion to be closed at Expo 2020 in Dubai (UAE) and Moscow to be excluded from the list of candidates to host Expo 2030.

Svyrydenko said that the aggression against Ukraine is a challenge to the entire civilized world, it is necessary to use all the possibilities and resources to make Russia and Belarus pay dearly for their actions.

"We are counting on a prompt and constructive response from the world economic community regarding the fact of an attack on an independent state in the very heart of Europe, unprecedented since World War II! We will definitely win! Glory to Ukraine!" she said.
