Some 10 mln people to get higher pensions in March – Rada
Pensions for March 2022 have been calculated, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has said.
"The Pension Fund of Ukraine has calculated pensions for March 2022 and has started transferring information to banks authorized to pay pensions and JSC Ukrposhta.
"Some UAH 8.2 billion were financed, including UAH 4.5 billion for the payment of 'military' pensions. Crediting to the accounts has been started in accordance with the established procedure," the Verkhovna Rada said in a Telegram on Wednesday.
The accrual of pensions took place in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 118 on the indexation of pensions and measures to increase the level of social protection of the most vulnerable segments of the population in 2022, dated February 16, 2022, using a 14% increase in the average salary, which is taken into account for pension calculation.
For the first time, with the use of this indicator, military pensions will increase. As a result, half a million people will receive an increase, and the average amount of such an increase will be UAH 705.
In general, over 10 million people will receive increased pensions.
Monthly compensation payments, an addition to the pension for people over 75, are also increasing. Thus, the elderly above 80 will receive UAH 570 instead of UAH 500, and persons aged 75 to 80 will receive UAH 456 instead of UAH 400. In total, compensation payments will receive 2.2 million people.
In case of a temporary change in the actual place of residence of the recipient, who received a pension at JSC Ukrposhta, a citizen can apply to the Pension Fund of Ukraine in person using telecommunications and the pension will be transferred to him without opening a bank account.
The payment of pensions in March will be ensured within the time limits specified by law, taking into account the specifics provided for by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 162 on the specifics of the payment and delivery of pensions, cash benefits for the period of martial law, dated February 26, 2022. In particular, it is possible to make payments without taking into account the terms determined by the first part of Article 47 of the Law of Ukraine on compulsory state pension insurance. It means that if necessary, the payment period can be extended after the 25th.
