Ukraine records 5,583 new COVID-19 cases per day, 13,981 people recovered – Stepanov
As of Thursday morning, some 5,583 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease were recorded in Ukraine, some 13,981 people recovered, some 241 patients died, Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov said.
"Some 5,583 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease were recorded in Ukraine as of January 21, 2021. In particular, 173 children and 229 medical workers fell ill. Some 1,811 people were hospitalized, some 241 people died and some 13,981 people recovered," Stepanov wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday morning.
A day earlier, on January 20, some 4,383 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered; on January 19, some 3,939 new COVID-19 cases were reported; on January 18, some 3,034 new COVID-19 cases were recorded; on January 17, some 5,990 new cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded; on 16 January, some 7,729 cases of COVID-19 were reported; on January 15, the minister reported 8,199 new cases of COVID-19 and on January 14, there were 7,925 cases of infection.
The number of infected people since the beginning of the pandemic on Thursday morning was 1.178 people, some 21,499 people died from COVID-19, some 914,730 people recovered.
Over the past day, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kyiv (595), Zaporizhia (358), Lviv (337), Kharkiv (302) and Dnipropetrovsk (295) regions.
