Emergency medical aid teams carry out more than 15,000 visits per day - Ministry of Health

Emergency medical aid teams carry out more than 15,000 visits per day, while 74% of patients who addressed to the 103 service do not need hospitalization, head of the expert group on the provision of emergency medical care of the medical services directorate of the Health Ministry Oleksandr Danyliuk said.

"More than 15,000 visits of emergency medical teams per day, including due to coronavirus disease. It includes visits all over Ukraine," he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine agency.

At the same time, according to Danyliuk, the 103 service receives about 30,000-33,000 calls per day.

"Approximately half of the calls end with the departure of the team, of which only 26% need hospitalization. That is, on average, 74% of patients who call 103 do not require hospitalization, most do not even need the departure of the team. Unfortunately, patients often exaggerate the severity of their condition," he said.

Danyliuk reported that, according to regulatory legal acts, a blood pressure increase is not an emergency case and does not require the provision of emergency medical assistance.
