European Solidarity notes unprecedented number of violations on election day

Observers from the European Solidarity party recorded 118 cases of violation of electoral legislation on the voting day at local elections in Ukraine, MP from the European Solidarity faction Ruslan Kniazevych has said.

"Now there is a phenomenon that we are noticing for the first time, this is the number of violations introduced by our observers, our authorized representatives, candidates in the form of various violations of electoral legislation. As of this moment, these are 118 cases of violations of electoral legislation," Kniazevych said at a briefing on Sunday.

According to him, the average number of such violations in previous elections never reached 50.

Kniazevych drew attention, in particular, to such violations as the untimely holding of the preparatory meeting at the polling stations, the presence in the lists of voters who are not registered in the houses of a certain precinct, errors in ballot papers or the absence of checklists and seals, sending ballot papers to other precincts, insufficient number of ballot papers and seals for sealing ballot boxes, keeping ballots outside the premises of the precinct election commission before or during voting, lack of information posters about candidates, bringing voters to vote, absence or improper design of voting booths and ballot boxes, ballot stuffing by members precinct election commissions, including the Servant of the People political party, massive damage to ballots, voting of voters with party symbols.

The MP paid special attention to the poll of voters. He said that in such cities as Mariupol, Zaporizhia, Zhytomyr, Bila Tserkva, the facts of the poll were recorded right on the territory of polling stations.
