Poroshenko extends law on special self-gov't procedures in ORDLO
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law, which extends the law on the special order of local self-government in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (ORDLO) for a year.
This law (bill No. 9153) was returned with the president's signature on October 4, 2018, the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reported.
At the morning plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, October 4, some 245 deputies supported the extension of the law on a special order of local self-government in the ORDLO until the end of 2019.
"The continuation of the law on the special procedure for self-government of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions is necessary to maintain international sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, as well as to create the necessary conditions for the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission," the president wrote on Twitter after Rada's adoption of the law.
