OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger during his visit to Donbas discussed the expediency of the functioning of the Zolote checkpoint in order to facilitate the work of other checkpoints on the contact line, Ukraine's State Border Guard Service has said.

According to a report published by the border agency on Saturday, Greminger on Friday visited the Mayorsk checkpoint, where he got acquainted with control operations for persons crossing the contact line in Donbas, and also spoke with citizens.

The head of the Donetsk-Luhansk regional directorate of the State Border Guard Service, Volodymyr Bondar, who accompanied the OSCE delegation, noted that all checkpoints in Donetsk and Luhansk regions were operating as normal.

"The expediency of the functioning of the Zolote checkpoint, which would significantly relieve the existing control points on the contact line, was also noted," the report says.
