Groysman hopes for adoption of law on Anticorruption court before summer

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman expects the final adoption of the draft law on the creation of the Anti-Corruption Court by June 1.

"We need to complete the formation of an anti-corruption infrastructure ... It remains to create an Anti-Corruption Court. There will be two session plenary weeks from next Monday, which is enough to consider the draft law on the Anticorruption Court and adopt it at the second reading," he said at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.

Groysman believes that before June 1 "there is every chance for the Ukrainian parliament to do it."

"I will personally ask both deputies and faction leaders to take this extremely important step and put an end to the issue of creating an anti-corruption infrastructure," the head of government stressed.

He expressed hope that after the creation of the court, the first verdicts to the corrupt officials would soon be made.

According to the prime minister, the adoption of this law will be a huge signal, including for investors.

As reported, on March 1 the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis the presidential bill on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.

The adoption of the law and the creation of the Anti-Corruption Court in Ukraine are awaited by partners, in particular the International Monetary Fund.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is sure that the process of creation of the Anti-Corruption Court will be completed in the first half of 2018.
