Klitschko says illegally taken public facilities will be returned to Kyiv's ownership

The Kyiv authorities will return to the city's ownership the facilities that were illegally taken from the public, Kyiv City State Administration's press service has reported.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at the beginning of a Kyiv City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 17, that the relevant issue had been included in the agenda.

"The issues of ownership and property include the draft decision on the return of the Zoriany movie theater to the Kyiv community. I am convinced that we must take this decision. We are returning to the city ownership the facilities that were once impudently and illegally taken away from the community. We will continue to do so," Klitschko said.

He also added that the Kyiv authorities were overhauling and reconstructing the premises of kindergartens, which had been used for other purposes for decades. Klitschko recalled that the other day he visited a kindergarten in the city's Sviatoshynsky district, which already accepts children.

"It has been overhauled and equipped, and now this is the most modern and comfortable institution. This year, we will open eight newly constructed and reconstructed kindergartens in the capital," the mayor said.

He also noted that "ten renovated parks and several tourist zones will open in Kyiv this year."

"At the same time, not everyone understands that all this is being done for residents of Kyiv. I am now talking about acts of vandalism that have increased in the capital," Klitschko said.
