Power industry partnership memo to be signed at EU-Ukraine summit in Brussels

The Memorandum of Understanding and Strategic Partnership in the energy sphere will be signed during the 18th EU-Ukraine summit in Brussels on November 24, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"We have to prove that the Energy Community is a divided highway, not just a set of obligations for Ukraine. That is why the Memorandum of Understanding and Strategic Partnership in the energy sector, which will be signed tomorrow, and which has everything from the synchronization of energy networks to cooperation in the field of energy security, can change a lot," the minister said in a blog on the website of the "New time" magazine on Wednesday.

Klimkin said that the EU and Ukrainian leaders will also discuss in details the economic reforms, the fight against corruption, the use of European financial aid, completion of the ratification of the Association Agreement and the proximate introduction of a visa free regime for Ukrainians.

The minister recalled that an agreement on the allocation of EUR 15 million for the fight against corruption will be signed in Brussels.
