Kerry hopes full implementation of Minsk Agreements can be started before Obama leaves office

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry believes it is fairly possible to implement the Minsk Agreements for eastern Ukraine and find a way acceptable to all parties to the negotiating process before the expiration of the current U.S. administration's term in office.

Speaking at a joint news briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Thursday, Kerry said he had certain optimistic expectations and was sure that, in the time remaining before the end of U.S. President Barack Obama and his administration's term in office, there is a good opportunity to start the process of the Minsk Agreements' full implementation.

Kerry believes it is necessary to find a way forward that will integrate interests of all parties and provide guarantees to all parties, as there are more than two of them.

The Minsk agreements can be implemented in a way in which all parties have guarantees that their needs are respected, he said.
