Energy ministry puts $300 mln credit from EBRD by Naftogaz under threat - Yatseniuk

The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has put the 300 million credit to be granted to national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under threat, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a meeting of anti-crisis energy staff on Thursday.

"Tomorrow a meeting of the whole cabinet with the World Bank, EBRD, IMF, all our western partners on receiving $300 million to buy gas on the western border will be held. The position of the energy ministry puts the receiving of $300 million for Ukraine not only under question, but also under threat. Tomorrow I plan to hold a meeting – we'll draw the line under the issue," he said.

As reported, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has several fundamental remarks to the plan on the reformation of Naftogaz Ukrainy as proposed by the EBRD.
