Justice department directors detained while taking UAH 250,000 bribe in Severodonetsk – PGO
Directors of the justice department and the office of the state management of affairs in Severodonetsk have been detained by law enforcement officers while taking a bribe of UAH 250,000, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has reported.
"On July 15, 2015, in Luhansk region, the Main Military Prosecution Office together with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine uncovered and caught red handed the director of Severodonetsk Justice Department, and Head of the Office of the State Management Affairs of the same justice department while taking a bribe (Part 3, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the PGO said.
The PGO said that the detention was part of a pretrial investigation under a criminal proceeding for demanding a bribe worth UAH 250,000 for a warrant for house arrest to be lifted. The bribe money has been confiscated.
Priority investigation means are ongoing. The perpetrators have been detained and restriction measures are being determined.
