OSCE ministerial discussions on Ukraine were "constructive" - Burkhalter
The Council of foreign ministers of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) held a constructive discussion of the situation in eastern Ukraine at their Basel meeting, OSCE Chairman-in-office Didier Burkhalter said on Friday.
He said the ministers' discussions were constructive, which is consistent with the spirit of the OSCE.
Notwithstanding their differences over Ukraine, the OSCE members must continue efforts to find an efficient and multilateral solution to the common security problems that we face, he said.
The ministers adopted declarations on countering terrorism - those who kidnap people for ransom and foreign militant terrorists, he said. This proves that the 57 OSCE member states condemn terrorism in all its forms regardless of who commits terror attacks and where, Burkhalter said.
