OSCE contact group urges immediate resolution of Ukrainian crisis
The OSCE Trilateral Contact Group has called for urgent steps towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, says a report posted on the OSCE Web site.
"The Trilateral Contact Group of senior representatives of Ukraine, the Russian Federation and the OSCE met in Kyiv on July 6, 2014. It discussed the present situation in eastern Ukraine, including modalities and the venue of further consultations with all actors involved," the report runs.
"On the basis of [Ukrainian] President [Petro] Poroshenko's Peace Plan and of the Joint Declaration of four Foreign Ministers adopted in Berlin on July 2, 2014, the Contact Group underlined that it was a matter of urgency to make concrete progress towards a peaceful settlement of the crisis.
"The Contact Group is of the opinion that the next round of consultations should take place with no delay," the report said.
