AVK denies information about attack on confectionary factory in Donetsk

The Donetsk confectionary factory of AVK company is operating in the usual regime, and media reports on the alleged attack at the factory by armed persons at noon on June 12 is untrue, the company's spokesperson has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The AVK Donetsk confectionary factory continues operating in the usual regime. No emergency situations have been registered on the territory of the factory. Information that the company's vehicles were stolen is untrue," she said.

Donetsk portal 62.ua reported with the reference of the factory's employees that around 1230 armed persons attacked the factory and stole several cars.

As reported, AVK, founded in 1991, is one of the largest chocolate producers in Ukraine. The company consists of four confectionery factories, which are located in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk and Mukacheve (Zakarpattia region).

In 2013, the company saw UAH 164.7 million in net profit, which is 1.3% down on 2012.
