Protesters seized the building of Ukraine's Agrarian Policy Ministry, located on Kyiv's central Khreschatyk Street, last night.

"People will keep warm in the building," a senior member of the Maidan self-defense unit responsible for order in the building told Interfax.

The ministry's security guards were not injured, and one of them has already left the building, he said.

A medical-aid post will be set up inside the building along with the warming shelter, he said.

The doors of "all of the ministry's halls were sealed" as of 0630 on Friday, the representative said.

"None of the assets have been damaged. However, four glass panels in the building's entrance door were smashed. We will certain fix them," he said.

Protesters did not allow ministry employees who came to collect their personal belongings to enter the building, he said.

"Employees came here and demanded that we allow them to collect their personal possessions, but we sealed all the doors and will not let anyone in until there is more clarity concerning the situation in our country," the representative said.
