U.S. and EU Ambassadors condemn violence on Bankova Street and attacks on public buildings during protest rallies in Kyiv on Sunday and call on all sides to avoid confrontation.

"We condemn today's violence near Bankova and attacks on public buildings, and call on all sides to avoid confrontation," reads a joint statement by U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt and Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski on Sunday evening.

The Ambassadors say they support basic human rights: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and free and open media.

"We encourage all parts of Ukrainian society to resolve their differences peacefully. We urge all stakeholders in the political process to establish immediate dialogue to facilitate a mutually acceptable resolution to the current discord," the joint statement said.
