Ukraine by 2015 could become a member of the Eurasian Union, and after that, unifying efforts with Europe, create a Common Economic Space "from Lisbon to Vladivostok", International Public Movement OCEAN (Open Confederation of European and Asian Nations) said.

"This a new alternative way, which helps Ukraine to feel its national self-consciousness," OCEAN Chairman Vadim Mingalev said at a press conference with Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

OCEAN First Deputy Chairman Igor Massolov reported that the organization was created on December 12, 2012, and since then has been conducting explanatory work on the territory of CIS member states about the necessity to strengthen the Customs Union.

"During this time we've managed to do a huge amount of work. It has to be said that it was done in Ukraine along with other public organizations and political parties, in particular the Ukrainian Choice public movement and the Communist Party of Ukraine," he said.

Massolov also said that for Ukraine the most rational way to lift the economy of the country would be rapid integration into the Customs Union.

"Ukraine becoming a member of the Customs Union, and from 2015 of the Eurasian Union, will become an attraction center for the whole world community, and of course, for Europe. After speeding up in the required way, restoring destroyed branches of its economy, Ukraine will become an equal and strong partner, already a member of the Eurasian Union," he said.

"And after that we can unite efforts with Europe creating a Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok, or as we say 'from ocean to ocean,'" he added.

To strengthen friendship, understanding and mutual help between the Ukrainian and Russian peoples, OCEAN in Ukraine is sending humanitarian aid to the victims of floods on the Amur River in Russia.
