Yanukovych approves three nominees for commission on disputes within CIS free trade area

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has approved three Ukrainian experts nominated by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry for the commission on disputes within the agreement on a free trade area within the CIS dated October 18, 2011.

According to the decree signed by the president and posted on his Web site on Thursday, the list of Ukrainian experts includes Natalia Mykolska, Andriy Omelchenko, and Yevhen Shkarban.

Mykolska is a counsel at Sayenko Kharenko law firm with a particular focus on international trade. Earlier, she worked for Vasil Kisil & Partners law firm.

Omelchenko heads the Civil and Labor Law Department of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.

Shkarban was an adviser to the Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine and headed the ministry's Department on Cooperation with the WTO. Before that he worked for Interpipe.

Under the agreement on a free trade area within the CIS, each party has to send up to three representatives to the commission on dispute settlement within 90 days since the agreement took effect [on September 20, 2012].

According to the CIS Executive Committee, Ukraine and Kazakhstan had not put up their candidates as of August 27, while Belarus, Russia, and Tajikistan nominated three experts and Moldova and Armenia each sent one expert.
