Parliamentary majority offers opposition to sign memo to introduce Rada-4 voting system

Representatives of Ukraine's parliamentary opposition have said that the parliamentary majority has proposed that they sign a memorandum of understanding on introducing the Rada-4 voting system.

"Our political opponents have offered us a memorandum of understanding in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This of course is a very interesting offer - for the umpteenth time to sign a memorandum stating that we need to observe the Ukrainian Constitution," leader of the Batkivschyna faction Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

According to him, at a meeting with Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Rybak they also discussed the need to upgrade the voting system and start to develop the Rada-4 system.

"I will say one thing: Rada-4 will cost around UAH 15 million," Yatseniuk said.

The faction leader also said that the opposition will consider the proposal to sign the memorandum, but they won't change their demands: "We will continue to insist on our demands of personal voting by button, by hands, by ballots - by any means."

As reported, the leader of the UDAR parliamentary faction, Vitali Klitschko, said that the oppositional factions would not unblock the parliamentary rostrum until their demands are satisfied. He said that the opposition "will block the rostrum until it convinces each parliamentarian that they must come to parliament and work in parliament."
