The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the State Treasury Service, during the submission of a cassation appeal against the decisions of the courts on the payment of UAH 3.113 billion to the Russian Defense Ministry in the case on the activity of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) Corporation, asked the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine to defer the payment until the cassation appeal is considered, but the court rejected the government's appeal.

"The court's panel believes that the issue of stopping the enforcement of the judgment of the Economic Court of Kyiv of September 19, 2012 must be considered directly at a court meeting," reads the decision of the Supreme Economic Court of December 26, which was published in the database of court decisions.

As reported, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka said on January 18 that Ukraine had already paid UAH 15 million to Russia in this case, and on January 21, the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine rejected the cassation appeal of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Treasury Service. At the same time, there is no official information how soon Ukraine will pay Russia the remaining UAH 3.1 billion.
