The administration of Kharkiv-based Kachanivska Penal Colony has drawn up a document confirming the refusal of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to go to a court hearing on the criminal case on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) Corporation scheduled for 1430 on March 5.

"A document confirming her refusal has been draw up," Head of the Kachanivska Penal Colony Ihor Kolpaschykov has said following another meeting with the ex-premier.

He said that in the presence of Tymoshenko's defenders, Yevhenia Tymoshenko and Oleksandr Plakhotniuk, he asked the ex-premier whether she intends to participate in the court hearing.

"She did not give a clear answer. We explained her that the answer she gives in the presence of her defenders is negative and shows that she will not participate in the court hearing," Kolpaschykov said.

He stressed that everything had been prepared for the ex-premier's transportation to the court.

"The security guards were there. They were on the ninth floor. The wheelchair, in which she could be taken to the car, also was there. All of her defenders that came to the ninth floor also saw that the security guards were on the territory [of the hospital]," he said.

As reported, the court has announced a break until 1430 on March 5 in the hearing of the criminal case on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine Corporation due to the absence of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

A preliminary hearing of the case was held on April 19, 2012. Tymoshenko did not attend any of those hearings.
