Boryspil airport from Jan 4 suspends servicing of AeroSvit's flights due to absence of payments

Boryspil International Airport suspends servicing of flights of AeroSvit Airline (both based in Kyiv) starting from flight VV 257 Kyiv-Copenhagen at 1250 p.m. on January 4, 2012 due to the non-observation of the financial discipline by the airline, the airport has reported on its page in the Facebook network.

"Earlier, the debt of AeroSvit to aviation companies, in particular, in Russia, led to the cancelation of flights at some Russian airports," the airport said.

The airport noted that top managers of Boryspil International Airport have taken urgent measures to restructure the debt of the said airline to the state enterprise to prevent the similar situation in the basic airport of the carrier. From November 1, 2012, AeroSvit has been paying in advance for servicing as the airline had not observed the conditions of the servicing agreement.

By now AeroSvit has not paid in advance for coming days, so the servicing will be suspended until the sum is received.

"The airport would not like to use this measure on holidays and cause inconveniences to passengers, although actions of AeroSvit leave little choice but…" reads the report.

The airport is asking passengers to take into account the fact of suspension of flights of the carrier and plan trips, taking into consideration the fact.

As reported, the economic court in Kyiv region after considering an application from private joint-stock company AeroSvit Airline, on December 29, 2012 commenced proceedings on the bankruptcy case.

According to the ruling published in the single ruling register, the court also ruled to introduce a property management procedure for the airline and appointed arbitration manager Leonid Talan property manager.

The ruling says that as of December 27, 2012, the airline had a debt of UAH 4.27 billion to its creditors. According to the balance sheet as of September 30, 2012, the total assets of AeroSvit stood at UAH 1.467 billion.
