AeroSvit airline declared bankrupt again

AeroSvit airline (Kyiv), which is currently inoperative, has once again been declared bankrupt.

According to a post on the website of the business court of Kyiv region, in case No. 911/2987/13 the court decided to declare the airline bankrupt on July 10 and open liquidation proceedings.

Leonid Talan has been appointed as property manager and liquidator. He was appointed to the post during the first attempt to declare the airline as bankrupt.

AeroSvit, which was a large Ukrainian airline, initiated its bankruptcy procedure late in December 2012, however, the procedure was cancelled by the court. The company then ceased operations and is not currently servicing flights.

The business court of Kyiv region on March 4, 2015 again initiated a case on the bankruptcy of AeroSvit. The decision was made due to the airline's inability to pay debts in the amount of UAH 4.44 million to Tenak LLC (Dnipropetrovsk).

Businessman and PrivatBank owner Ihor Kolomoisky is seeking to recover in court about UAH 3 billion in debts from affiliated Kyiv-based AeroSvit airlines, which has ceased operation.

The business court of Kyiv region has received claims from several creditors demanding the collection of UAH 2.383 billion from AeroSvit airline. Enterprise with foreign investment Albion filed the largest claim, worth UAH 1.196 billion.

According to a court ruling, Albion's claim concerns a debt under an agreement to supply aviation fuel signed in 2008 between AeroSvit and OJSC Transnational Financial and Industrial Oil Company Ukrtatnafta (under the control of Ihor Kolomoisky's Privat Group).
