Yatseniuk: Opposition will buy Yanukovych ticket to Brussels

The opposition has welcomed the postponement of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's visit to Moscow on December 18.

"I would like to congratulate the Ukrainian people and the opposition on the fact that President Yanukovych's visit to Russia has been canceled. The opposition is buying President Yanukovych tickets to Brussels, where we need to go," Batkivschyna faction leader Arseniy Yatseniuk said from the parliamentary rostrum commenting on the cancellation of the Ukrainian president's visit to Russia, the press service of the Front for Change party reported.

Before that, Yatseniuk said that the opposition would demand President Viktor Yanukovych be brought to account should he sign any agreement to join the Customs Union in Moscow.

As reported, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was to make a working visit to Moscow on December 18. However, the visit has been postponed.

Yanukovych's press service said that the Ukrainian and Russian presidents planned to discuss important issues related to the countries' cooperation, first of all in the spheres of energy, trade, and economic relations. Particularly, the presidents were to develop a mutually acceptable mechanism for interaction between Ukraine and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

"For the successful implementation of these agreements, additional expert consultations are necessary. In connection with this, the sides decided to postpone the visit," the Ukrainian president's press service said.
