A video featuring a Ukrainian journalist Anhara Kochneva, who went missing in Syria, has been uploaded on Youtube Channel of the Syrian armed opposition.

The 15-second video shows Kochneva saying in Arabic: "My name is Anhara. I was abducted near Homs. I beg the Ukrainian and Russian embassies and the Syrian authorities to comply with the demands of my captors."

The details of the kidnappers' demands are unknown.

Kochneva's last entry in her Live Journal blog dates October 8: "Don't go looking for me for a couple of days. I am off." Later it was reported that she went missing near the Syrian city of Homs.

On October 15, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's spokesman, Oleksandr Dykusarov, told Interfax-Ukraine that gunmen kidnapped a Ukrainian woman in Syria, who went to the country as a translator for the crew of a Russian television channel.

"According to the information we received from the migration service in Syria, a woman, born 1972, is a citizen of Ukraine. She crossed the Syrian border on September 22 this year through Damascus International Airport at an invitation of a non-governmental organization," he said.
