Business must build Olympic Village in Carpathians, Kolesnikov says
Business must build an Olympic Village in the Carpathians, and the task of the state is to build the roads, Vice Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov has said.
"We would like business to take a bigger part building all of the hotels and the Olympic Village, and of that there is no doubt. It means the state is responsible for building roads and railways to the mountainous district for the Carpathian Olympiad, but they will be useful forever. This will be a world famous resort. This is quite a different amount of money compared to Austria and Switzerland, and a family with an average income could afford a winter resort. But the most important is that 100,000 people will get a job in the tourism business. The thing is worth the effort," he reported on the air at Donbass TV channel on Monday.
For the Winter Olympiad taking place in 2022, bids from the countries that wish to hold this event will be considered in 2014. In two years Ukraine should have a great number of arguments to support its right to hold the Winter Olympiad, Kolesnikov said.
