Symonenko invites foreign observers to monitor election campaign in Ukraine

Leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU) Petro Symonenko has invited representatives of foreign communist parties to take part in the process of monitoring of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine.

According to the party's press service, Symonenko said this during a meeting with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece Alexandra Papariga as part of the European Communist Meeting in Brussels.

"The sides discussed common problems of the communist parties of Ukraine and Greece, in particular the threat of the development of Fascism in society. In addition, Symonenko spoke of the situation with the status of the Russian language in Ukraine," reads the statement.

"The CPU leader also told his interlocutor about the course of the election campaign in Ukraine and invited representatives of foreign communist parties in the monitoring of the upcoming parliamentary elections," the press service said.

Symonenko also wished the Greek communists success in their further fight for social equality, and the rights and interests of working people.
