Shmyhal meets with MFA reps of South-Eastern Europe countries in Kyiv

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of the countries of South-Eastern Europe and discussed with them the strengthening of anti-Russian sanctions, the seizure of frozen assets, the integration of Ukraine into the EU and NATO.
"Strengthening sanctions against Russia, the seizure of frozen assets, the integration of Ukraine into the EU and NATO and other topics were discussed during a meeting with the heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of the countries of South-Eastern Europe," he said in Telegram on Friday evening.
As reported, on Friday, January 17, the first ministerial meeting in the Ukraine-South-Eastern Europe format was held in Kyiv. Representatives of the Foreign Ministries of nine countries visited Ukraine: Moldova, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Montenegro.
Shmyhal said during the meeting with diplomats he noted the importance of adopting a Joint Communique, in which the participating countries condemn Russia's full-scale aggression, support the EU sanctions regime against Russia, participate in the implementation of the provisions of the Peace Formula and actively support Ukraine in international organizations.
"During our dialogue, I voiced the priority areas of the government's work. Defense, restoration (in particular, demining and energy protection), integration into the EU and NATO," Shmyhal said. "We paid considerable attention to Ukraine's promotion of European integration. The experience gained by countries that have already gone through the path to full membership in the EU is very valuable to us. Strengthening cooperation between countries with access to the Black Sea is also important. I thanked the states for supporting Ukraine's movement towards NATO," the Ukrainian Prime Minister said, adding that he proposed strengthening cooperation, in particular in the format of joint intergovernmental consultations, as well as through involvement in reconstruction projects.
The Prime Minister also welcomed the official opening of the Albanian Embassy in Ukraine.
