The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports the expansion of the institute of military attaches "in all geographies" where Ukrainian embassies are present, said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha.

"Personally, as a minister, I support the approach that a military attache with the appropriate staff should be in every foreign diplomatic institution of Ukraine. I am in contact with Kyrylo Budanov, we are working in this direction," Sybiha said during the Hour of Questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, which was broadcast via YouTube by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.

According to the minister, the institute of military attaches is extremely important in the activities of every foreign institution in Ukraine, especially for a belligerent country.

"Therefore, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we speak in favour of both filling vacancies in those embassies where military attaches are already present or appointed today, but there are still unfilled vacancies, and for expanding the institute of military attaches in all geographies where our embassies are present," Sybiha said.

According to him, the issue of military attaches was also raised during the meeting of ambassadors this summer.
