Zelenskyy: If Russian reps want, they will participate in second Peace Summit

Representatives of Russia will participate in the second Peace Summit if they want to, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Tuesday.

"We should be ready [for holding the Peace Summit] before November. As for [the presence of] representatives of the Russian Federation at the second summit, all countries want this. They […] think that would give a chance to end the war. […] And we are preparing a plan. If Russian representatives want to be present at the second summit, they will be present. Otherwise, we may lose a lot of countries [supporting Ukraine] at the second summit," he said at a press conference in Kyiv.

The head of state recalled that no representatives of the Russian side attended the inaugural Global Peace Summit. According to him, it was uneasy to bring other countries together at the Peace Summit without Russia's presence.

"It was difficult to gather countries without Russian representatives. However, we gathered a lot of countries, institutions – more than 100. I think it was very important and successful," Zelenskyy said.
