In Ternopil region, man detained who staged shooting, killing two, injuring three people
In Ternopil region, police detained an armed man who shot at people, two people were killed and three others were injured as a result of the shooting, the National Police of Ukraine report.
"On Wednesday, at about 15:35 on August 15, special line 102 received a message that in the village of Dobrovody, Ternopil region, an unknown man dressed in a military uniform fired several shots from an automatic weapon in the direction of people and disappeared," the message published on the Telegram channel on Thursday says.
According to police, a special police operation has been launched in the region to search for the shooter. Law enforcement officers have identified the suspect, as well as the possible direction of his movement.
"As a result of further coordinated actions involving employees of the special forces of the CORD, the man involved in the commission of the crime was detained. He turned out to be a 45-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region. The police seized his weapon," the police said.
The circumstances of the emergency are being established now. The issue of entering information on this fact into the Unified Register of Pretrial investigations under Part 2 of Article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved.
Materials on the investigation will be sent to the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI).
