AFU General Staff develops proposals to simplify mechanism for attracting citizens to military service on mobilization

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has developed proposals according to which the commanders of military units can call up military personnel who want to do military service without participating in these events of the Centers of Territorial Recruitment and Social Support.
"The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on an initiative basis, has developed proposals for changes to the ‘Procedure for conscription of citizens for military service on mobilization, for a special period,’ providing an opportunity for commanders of military units to conscript those who have expressed a desire to undergo military service without participation in these events of territorial recruitment and social support centers," a message posted on the Facebook page on Thursday reads.
It is indicated that the introduction of appropriate changes will simplify the mechanism for attracting citizens to military service on mobilization. In addition, the commanders of military units will be able to select and recruit personnel motivated to protect their homeland.
Also, those who are liable for military service can choose vacant positions that exist in military units, including in a related civilian specialty or skills; appropriate changes will help offset the risks for citizens to be called up through the Centers of Territorial Recruitment and Social Support to other military units not of their own choice.
