Naftogaz Ukrainy plans together with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada to solve the problems with multibillion-dollar debts of regional gas companies, gas sales and heating companies for gas supplied under special obligations, Naftogaz Head Andriy Kobolev has said.

"We hope that in the near future we will be able in a constructive dialogue with the government and the Verkhovna Rada to define such a mechanism for selling gas that will not allow this money to dissolve in the air or go in favor of private companies," he said at a press conference in Kyiv.

According to him, the company's plans for the payment of taxes, dividends and capital investments are difficult to implement because of the current situation. In particular, the total amount of planned revenues to the national budget for the current year from Naftogaz is about UAH 130 billion.

"Without solving these problems, Naftogaz Ukrainy will not be able to perform such a level of paying taxes. Without solving the problem of the current debt of regional gas and gas sale companies in the amount of $2 billion, a huge amount of debts of heating companies, the company will not be able to do this," he stressed.
