International organizations that carry out procurement of medicines and medical goods for Ukraine will buy more drugs on four directions for the saved funds of the 2016 national budget.

The government made the relevant decision at a meeting on August 29.

According to the draft resolution available to Interfax-Ukraine, medicines to treat children with mental disorders and behavior from the spectrum of autism, medicines and medications for children's dialysis, as well as products and medicines for children with oncological and oncohematological diseases will be bought for the saved funds.

In addition, drugs for people with orphan metabolic diseases will be purchased.

As reported, in 2015 the Ministry of Health authorized three international organizations, namely the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), UNDP and the British purchasing agency Crown Agents, to procure medicines under state programs for the national budget funds.

Some 3.944 billion was allocated for the purchase of medicines from the national budget of 2016.
